Keeping with our love of glass we also offer items created
with the Handmade
Lampwork Glass
Beads, which are made in our own studio.
The term Lampworking is centuries old and refers to the
oil lamps once used to melt the glass. Modern
lampwork glass beadmakers create their art by heating
the glass with a torch until it's molten, and forming
the bead around a steel rod. The bead is then hand
shaped and embellished using a variety of techniques.
The finished beads are annealed as they are made, going
straight from torch to kiln for strength and heirloom
durability.
